We have compiled the list of holidays in Bulacan for this year, 2022. The list includes regular national holidays and special non-working and working days based on President Duterte’s proclamation number 1236. It is better to plan for your vacation ahead of time to get the best deals in accommodation and airfare. Of course, we are still in the COVID-19 pandemic, and we need to strictly abide by the IATF protocols for everyone’s safety and wellbeing.
National Elections is scheduled for May 9, 2022, but it is not yet proclaimed as a holiday. Historically, the Philippine election day is a special non-working holiday. We will update this article if the dates or the proclamation are adjusted accordingly.
Proclamation No. 1236: List of regular holidays and special non-working and working days for 2022.
October 29, 2021 – President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 1236, declaring the regular holidays and special non-working and working days for 2022.
Like in 2021, All Souls’ Day (November 2), Christmas Eve (December 24), and the last day of the year (December 31) were declared special working days to “encourage economic productivity by, among others, minimizing work disruption” as the country continues to weather the COVID-19 pandemic.
As expected, the same rule applies this year as the same holidays are declared special working days. This may not be final as Duterte’s term will end by June 30. There is still a possibility that the next President will revoke this pronouncement.
Separate Proclamations for Ramadan, Eid’l Fitr, and Eid’l Adha holidays
The President will issue separate proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eid’l Fitr, the end of the month-long Ramadan, and Eid’l Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice. These Islamic holidays are determined by the Islamic calendar or the lunar calendar. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos shall inform the Office of the President of the dates on which these holidays will fall in 2022.
