8th Week Summary – COVID-19 in Bulacan Report: April 29 to May 5

April 29, 2020 – At the start of the 8th week of the battle vs. COVID-19 in Bulacan, there are 114 COVID cases, 19 recovered patients, and 24 deaths in the province.

  • PH virus cases hit 8,212, deaths 558
  • China flexed muscles in the South China Sea, including islands in PH territory, as world battles pandemic

April 30, 2020 – At least 87 overseas Filipino workers who were repatriated from Italy and Spain were the first to use the quarantine facilities of the Philippine Arena Complex in Ciudad Victoria in Bocaue, Bulacan. This is the largest quarantine facility that was allowed for use by the Philippine Government.

  • Distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) Subsidy is extended.

May 1, 2020 – The Bulacan Infection Control Center located at the compound of the Bulacan Medical Center was inaugurated today, and was open to accepting COVID-19 patients.

May 2, 2020 – After recovering, Senator Sonny Angara tested positive again for COVID-19.

May 3, 2020 – 300,000 sign online petition opposing increase in OFW PhilHealth contributions

  • Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada was arrested for ‘violating’ lockdown in San Juan.
  • Solicitor General Jose Calida on Sunday warned the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against granting provisional authority to the broadcast giant. This provisional authority would have allowed ABS-CBN to operate while the renewal of its franchise is pending in Congress.

May 4, 2020 – A Bulacan barangay councilor was nabbed for ‘anomalous’ SAP distribution.

  • Duterte offered a P30,000 reward to anybody who would report any officials who steal coronavirus aid or subsidy.
  • Duterte ordered to make OFW PhilHealth contributions voluntary.
  • The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) was temporarily suspending collections for all direct members after its directive to increase the mandatory contribution of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to 3% drew flak.

May 5, 2020 – The 8th week Bulacan COVID-19 Report ended with 123 COVID Cases, 35 recoveries, and 26 deaths in the province.

  • The NTC issued a cease and desist order to stop ABS-CBN from broadcasting. The order was released in the midst of the prevailing Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon and other parts of the country. Uncertainty ensued on its 11,000 employees.

April 29, 2020 – 114 COVID Cases, 19 Recoveries, & 24 Deaths

At the start of the 8th week, Bulacan Provincial Health Office reports 2 new confirmed COVID-19 cases coming from the Guiguinto and Bocaue. The total now is at 114 confirmed cases, 19 recovered patients, and 24 deaths.

The City of San Jose Del Monte is still at the top with 19 cases. Malolos City followed next with 14 cases. Marilao is in 3rd place with 12 cases. At 4th place is Bocaue with 11 cases. Moreover, Meycauayan City and Baliuag are in 5th place with 9 cases each. The case distribution per town/municipality or city can be found in the table below:

Bulacan Provincial Health Office reports 4 new confirmed COVID-19 cases coming from (2) Malolos, (1) Marilao, and (1) Sta. Maria. PHO also reports 1 newly recovered patient from Sta. Maria. The total now is at 118 confirmed cases, 20 recovered patients, and 24 deaths.

The City of San Jose Del Monte is still at the top with 19 cases. Malolos City followed next with 16 cases. Marilao is in 3rd place with 13 cases. At 4th place is Bocaue with 11 cases. Bulacan Provincial Health Office reports 3 additional confirmed cases today from the towns of Marilao, Pandi, and Baliuag. PHO also reports 7 additional recovered patients and one (1) death toll from Baliuag. There are now 121 confirmed cases, 27 recovered patients, and 25 deaths.

Bulacan Provincial Health Office reports 3 new recoveries from (2) Pandi and (1) Bulakan. There are now 121 confirmed cases, 30 recovered patients, and 25 deaths.

Bulacan Provincial Health Office reports 2 new confirmed cases, 5 additional recoveries, and 1 death. The 2 new cases are from the towns of Bocaue and Sta. Maria. Sadly, a COVID patient from Malolos City died today. This brings the total to 123 confirmed cases, 35 recoveries, and 26 deaths.
